I've uploaded a few images of my work so that you can see what I do...no, it isn't avant-garde or edgy, but I love it! There is room in the art buying world for most any artistic expression; I know this because I have placed art in a lot of locations....people buy what they connect with and it is very, very personal. What appeals to one collector may be horrible to another. To date, I have works in over 70 corporate and museum collections as well as countless private collections. I've won awards...lots of them...regionally and nationally, and been featured in publications....here are two recent magazine covers showing a portrait and a landscape that I did in the last year.....the painting of the two young boys was the cover of a telephone book. I haven't figured out yet how to organize images in this blog...first timer! I'll continue to add images of new paintings with each post, so check in often. If you have questions, feel free to email them to me.

Know Your Blogger!

I'm an artist, teacher and gallery consultant...with 30 years experience in the field/s. Of course, that gave me a lot of time to form opinions about the creative act and the marketing of its product. I will be dealing with my learning curve in this blog with the hope that it helps those without as much experience. As a professional artist showing in galleries for many years, I see a lot of young artists, or some not so young beginning a second career trying to navigate the art sales minefield...perhaps this will be an aid in knowing how to approach clients and galleries. I have some beliefs that our present education system fails the creative students miserably and will address that along the way. And finally, having worked as a marketing and gallery consultant (and private clients), I will publish information for the newbie art buyer/collector, along with how to display the works they buy.
